My name is Jodie and I thoroughly enjoy my role as a tutor. I find it extremely rewarding working with both children and young adults to help them with subjects and topics they are struggling with.
I graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Mathematics with Computing BSc and achieved Grade A* in both Maths and German GCSE. Additional qualifications in Advanced Chemical Engineering MSc and currently studying Nutritional Sciences MSc at the University of Nottingham. I have experience working with both children and young adults both in the UK and Canada and have previously taken part in the Student Associate Scheme with Thomas Telford School.
I am very flexible and adaptable based on each student's learning styles and I have a friendly, understanding and patient nature, which helps me to work with students of all ages and abilities. I am passionate about helping students improve their confidence, particularly in Maths, and also try to support students with other areas of their academic curriculum, where possible.
Supporting local children as they work to extend, revise or consolidate individual maths and English skills. Students work on curriculum topics in small, tutor-led groups, and core skills at home to build confidence and fluency. Students also use hands-on activities to enhance their learning, receive rewards for their hard work, and develop strong study habits.

Speaking to parents, and students, I know that what they really want from a private tutor is a tutor who is not only knowledgeable about their subject and the requirements for tests and exams but also someone who is able to relate and communicate with students’ and who cares about the students’ education as much as the parents do.
We all want our children to do well and finding the right tutor is one of the very best ways to help them do this. The question is: how do you choose?
How can you be sure that tutors are qualified, safety referenced, are any good at tutoring or have the right approach and teaching style for your child?
